When I was living in CO, my first job in USA, was at Dollar Tree. I have bikes pictures on my Instagram, follow me there: @prisci_gruss
I miss the snow, the mountains, and the memories that I had there. I miss the sweet smell of winter in the air. I miss the cozy feeling of wearing long sleeve, beanies, thick socks, gloves and boots.
I used to ride my bicycle from my apartment to work, literally on the snow. I would come back at night, by myself, around 8pm.
Working at Dollar Tree store was a lot of fun for a first job. It was my first time being a cashier.
My two managers were clowns. We would get along like siblings.
I would buy 1 dollar milk coffees energetics. Coffee mini ice cream. Calendars, earphones, cheese snacks, lays chips, mini candles, and so much more.
My first perfume that I bought in the USA, with my money, was the 1 dollar spray perfume. It wasn’t bad.
Camped 3 times. With snow.
Went to Sherpas Nepalese restaurant, in Boulder. Ate that good curry lamb. My favorite restaurant of all times.
Went snow mobile. Never went skiing though.
I miss the jacuzzi that I had in my apartment. It was a really good looking apartment, cheaper than my old apartment in Hawaii.
The first one had a pool. A farm in front of my balcony. I could see the cows and the cubes of grass. I got that cowgirl view.
I even had a funny cow pajama.
My second job was at Walmart. It was near my first apartment. I could go walking.
They would let me work at cosmetics, and at the garden house. I would love to organize all the makeup isles, and water the plants. Would come back home every once a while with a different cactus.
My coworkers always has been very sweet to me.
I was waiting 2 years to become a resident in CO, so I could go to Front Range Community College, in Longmont. But once I’ve finally completed 2 years, then oh oh, change of plans!
My second apartment was literally in front of a lake park. I would ride my electric scooter everywhere. Even for work, when I was still at Dollar Tree. Sometimes I would speed at the sidewalk.
Sometimes I feel that I had 3 life’s. One in Brazil, another in CO, and now, one in Hawaii. Depending where you live, it changes you.
